Why did Pollard tape his mouth shut
Playing for Mumbai Indians against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Bengaluru, Pollard was particularly active on the field, going around Chris Gayle and trying to create some pressure on the opposing team. However, this drew the ire of the on-field umpires, Richard Illingworth and Vineet Kulkarni, who felt that Pollard was getting too close to the batsmen and interfering with the game.
When the umpires reprimanded Pollard for his behaviour, he reacted in a unique way - by taping his mouth shut. This unexpected move caused laughter and cheers from the crowd, who had never seen anything like it before. Pollard himself was visibly unimpressed by the referees, shaking his head in disapproval as the cameras panned towards him.
Pollard made a surprising move during the match when he went to the dugout between overs and returned with his mouth taped shut, seemingly in protest against the umpires. The commentary box and even his teammates couldn't help but laugh, but Pollard kept his expression serious and used an unusual gesture to get his message across.
