MUMBAI: Meg Lanning (70 off 42 balls) and Jess Jonassen (42 not out off 20 balls) fired Delhi Capitals to 211 for four against UP Warriorz in a Women's Premier League match at the DY Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai on Tuesday.
While Lanning stole the show in the opening part of the innings, Australia's Jess Jonassen went hammer and tongs towards the end to ensure Delhi crossed the 200-run mark for the second time in as many games.

The Delhi outfit scored 65 runs from the last five overs, with Jonassen receiving good support from Jemimah Rodrigues (34 not out off 22 balls).
UP Warriorz opted to field as they thought the surface would soon suit the pacers, but Delhi managed to negate the threat to put up a challenging total.
Lanning and her partner Shafali Verma (17 off 14) shared 67 runs off 39 balls with the skipper doing most of the damage.
The Warriorz surprisingly called for the omission of Grace Harris, who had won them the game alone in the previous game, for the extra pace of Shabnim Ismail.
The South African speedster got the ball moving in his opening spell but was unlucky to get a wicket. One knew it was Lanning's day because even her mistakes were spinning all the way.

When Ismail got the ball to swing, Lanning decided to hit a full ball but got a lead that sailed over the bowler's head for the first six overs.
Lanning's second six again went off Ismail when she mishit a pull that went over the fine-leg fielder.
Australia's inspirational captain was brilliant with her back foot play on both sides of the wicket, with cut and thrust an integral part of her game.

She reached her second consecutive half-century by sweeping Sophie Ecclestone. It was the top edge that comfortably cleared the back square fence.
Shafali was dismissed in the seventh over and Kiran Navgire took a catch at deep square leg off Tahlia McGrath.
A late shower halted play for a brief moment as Delhi cruised to 87 for one in nine overs.
Apart from Ismail, all other UP bowlers have conceded more than 10 runs per over.
